For the Glory of God

“Good work! You did your job well. From now on be my partner” (Matthew 25:23 MSG)

Question: what did you want to do when you were young? Be a teacher? Learn to play guitar? Travel the world? Or be a “stay at home” mum? Give it some serious thought.

Serving the Saviour doesn’t have to lead you on a mission in a far off country. It can start on your street. Only God knows where it could lead you! You could teach those around you about Jesus through your word and your walk, soul-sing as you play your part in Sunday morning worship, travel with Him on your journey through life and live your love for God out at home bringing your kids to Christ. God gave you aspirations for one soul reason. So that you would chase them. Don’t let your dreams slip out of sight, run after them for dear life! Never ever ever forget this, “God makes their dreams come true” (Psalm 14:5 MSG) He can do the same for you!

When I get Home I want to hear my Father say “Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!” (Matthew 25:23 NLT). I don’t have to do anything out of the ordinary to make God smile. Just follow through with what I was born to do.

To prove my point let’s take a look at some of the ‘heroes of faith’.  You would expect God to have placed them in some pretty important places, right?  Now that’s where you’re wrong.

Let’s start with Daniel; God led him to a lions’ lair.

And what about Joseph, and Paul; come to think of it, they served their time in a cell.

And John the Baptist, spent his time wandering around the wilderness.

Point proven.

Question: can you think of any other ‘heroes’ or ‘heroines’?

If God’s purpose for you is to serve in the back end of nowhere in a bog standard job, do everything for the glory of God and you will be surprised what He can do! He can turn your little into a lot!

Question: where are you in your walk with God? What could He be calling you to do?

“If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen” (1 Peter 4:11 NIV). To God be the glory!  We should be God-honouring in all that we do, what will you do for Him today?

God may everything that I do be for Your glory.  When I stand before You on Judgement day I want to see you smile…
