Perfect Plan

June14

“I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for” (Jeremiah 29:11 MSG)

What do you think God’s plan for you is? Any idea? Pretty tough question, huh? Do you know what, it doesn’t matter what you think His plan for you in the future is. It only matters what His plan for you today is. Makes sense, right?

Question: what does God want of you? Where are you right now in life?

God taught me a rather tough, but much-needed life-lesson one day. I was sitting in a daze, like I do, just day-dreaming about all the cool stuff I wanted to do for God in years to come. I had it all mapped out, and boy was it a packed schedule! I even had time-limits set on serving, now that’s what I call limiting the Lord! Anyway, here’s what God had to say about my scheming, “Connie, did I tell you any of that?” Needless to say my day-dream was cut short; I figured God doesn’t care much about what we want to do for Him when we’re “all grown up”. God wants us to focus on the present rather than day dreaming about what may or may not happen in years to come.

Time is precious; don’t waste it pondering what you want to do for God someday… What’s ahead is safe in God’s hands. We should leave it at that. No fussing or fretting. Just relax, God’s in charge. Focus on the here and now and God will take care of the rest. He will take care of you, just like He took care of the Prophet Jeremiah. Now Jeremiah definitely didn’t have it easy. He was a man with a broken heart; his spirit was crushed by the very people God sent him to witness to. But Jeremiah kept on following God’s way anyway. Why? Because he knew that God’s ways are better. Far better.

Do you want to know something really exciting? God has you where He wants you… how cool is that?! God had placed you according to His perfect plan. You fit into His jigsaw puzzle plan snugly! Yea it may be tough or trying, you may want to dig in your heels, throw a wobbly or even storm out at times but just remember, “God has us where he wants us… All we do is trust him enough to let him do it” (Ephesians 2:7 MSG). Focus in on this, it’s only ever well with you when you’re doing God’s will.  You may not understand at the time or see Him working it out but just trust Him. After all, He is God; He knows what He’s doing.

Point to ponder?
What do you think God’s plan for you is, TODAY? What in the world are you waiting for?! Hop to it!

Prayer: dear Jesus, show me what You want me to do so that I can’t hide from it- set an open door before me…
